The Rumtse to Tso Moriri trek is a popular trekking route located in the Ladakh region of India. The trek begins in the village of Rumtse and follows a remote trail through the Changthang plateau, a high-altitude desert that is home to traditional Tibetan nomads and wildlife like marmots, wild asses, and snow leopards.
The trek is generally considered challenging due to the high altitude and rugged terrain. Trekkers will cross several high passes, including the Kyamayuri La pass (5,000m) and the Yalung Nyau La pass (5,200m), as well as hike along the shores of Tso Moriri, a stunning high-altitude lake located at an altitude of 4,500m.
The trek typically takes around 12-14 days to complete and requires good physical fitness and acclimatization to the high altitude. Along the way, trekkers will camp in remote locations and have the opportunity to experience the unique culture and hospitality of the local nomadic communities.

Rumtse To Tsomoriri Trek Itinerary
Detailed Daywise Itinerary
Arrive Leh and check in hotel. Rest of the day is free for acclimatization in hotel. Overnight stay in Leh.
Meal: Dinner
Morning after breakfast, We will take you to a sightseeing tour of Hemis, Shey and Thiksey monasteries of Leh. Evening you can walk down to the nearest market on your own or spend some time at leisure. Overnight at the hotel.
Meal: Breakfast + Dinner
Morning after check out from hotel and drive to Rumtse and start trekking to Kyamar. It is around 10 Kms trek which can take 4.5 Hrs time. The trail to Kyamar which was once known as the salt road. Through this valley, the salt from Tso Kar was transported to Leh and the Indus valley. Overnight stay in tents.
Meal: Breakfast + Lunch + Dinner
Trek to keep to the trail and climb the Mandalchan La and then climb down to Tisaling. Overnight in tents.
Meal: Breakfast + Lunch + Dinner
Trek to Ponganagu near Tso Kar Lake via Shibuk. Overnight stay in tents.
Meal: Breakfast + Lunch + Dinner
Trek from Tasokar Lake (Ponganagu) to Nuruchan it is around 15 Kms trek.
Meal: Breakfast + Lunch + Dinner
you will be crossing two passes today (HorlamKongka La and Kyamayuri La) to reach Gyamar Barma. Overnight in tents.
Meal: Breakfast + Lunch + Dinner
Trek to Kartse La and go down towards the Gyamar valley. Overnight stay in Gyamar.
Meal: Breakfast + Lunch + Dinner
Cross the Yalung Nyau La, the highest pass of the trek and have a great view of Tso Moriri lake from the top. Upon arrival in Karzok village check-in the campsite for an overnight stay.
Meal: Breakfast + Lunch + Dinner
This day you will stay in Karzok village and explore surrounding area of Tasamoriri Lake and Korzok village. Overnight stay in campsite.
Morning after breakfast drive back to Leh. Upon arrival check in the hotel for an overnight stay.
Meal: Breakfast + Lunch + Dinner
Morning after breakfast check out from hotel and transfer to Leh airport to catch the flight to Delhi and onward destination.

Cancellation & Refund Policy
Policy Regarding Cancellation / No Show / Early Departure
In case of cancellation of tour/travel services due to any avoidable/unavoidable reason/s we must be informed in writing. Cancellation charges would be effective from the date we receive letter in writing and cancellation charges would be as follows:
30 days & prior to arrival – 10% of the tour/service cost.
20 days to 18 days prior to arrival – 20% of the tour/service cost.
14 days to 16 days prior to arrival – 25% of the tour/service cost.
10 days to 08 days prior to arrival – 50% of the tour/service cost.
07 days & less, prior to arrival or no show – NO REFUND.
Please note – Irrespective of above mentioned cancellations slabs – in case of cancellation of tour services after the booking is made with us – a minimum 10% service charges would be applicable.
In case you cancel the trip after commencement refund would be restricted to a limited amount that too would depend on the amount that we would be able to recover from the hoteliers we patronize. For unused hotel accommodation, chartered transportation and missed meals etc. we do not bear any responsibility to refund.
Refund
In regard to refund of unused / unutilized services (which are paid for and cancelled in advance) the refund amount would be worked out on the basis of cancellation policy as described above and the money would be accordingly refunded to the person who has made the payment to us. Please note that the refund process may take 2 – 4 weeks due to banking procedures. If the refund is made to the credit card account OR to Bank account, the bank charges would be debited from the refund amount.
